| The 2nd Annual Chicago Green Ribbon Rally brought riders from throughout Chicagoland and as far away as Colorado to the Plumber's Hall in the Near West Loop. The even featured a self-guided tour of Chicago's beautiful lakefront. Rider's had the option of starting the tour from one of three convenient starting locations, located North, West and South of the downtown area. Most rider's agreed that the addition of the observation run added a key element to the Rally. Dan Metz of Carol Stream commented "It has been some time since I've ridden down along the lake. The city really has done a lot to improve the flow and scenery. I was really impressed with the views of the skyline against all the new landscaping." | |
| Once at the Rally site, the Live Auction took center stage. Bob Maxant of Illinois Harley-Davidson/Buell came away as one of the day's big winners. Out bidding several others, Bob bid over $700 to win a custom hand stitched quilt made using T-shirts from area dealers. At 2:30 pm, after the band's final set, the winner of the 2004 FXDL was drawn from about 3,500 entries ... Joe C. of Chicago was the lucky winner and plans to be at this year's Rally on his new bike! Rally Chairman, Stephen Wendt ended the day thanking all the participants and sponsors for making the event a success. The money raised was presented to the UIF Guild and is being used to fund research to cure diabetes and to help make life saving organ transplants continue to happen at the UIC Medical Center. | |
