About Us

Revved Up for Health

Be part of the action and enjoy the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of liver disease patients and veterans of the United States Armed Forces: Support the 9th Annual Green Ribbon Rally, a motorcycle-ride fundraiser to benefit the Walter Payton Liver Center at the University of Illinois Medical Center and the Jesse Brown Chicago VA Medical Center.

On Sunday, June 12, motorcycle enthusiasts will enjoy scenic rides from five Harley-Davidson dealership locations (Illinois H-D, Zylstra H-D, Conrad’s H-D, City Limits H-D and Wild Fire H-D) to the Kane County Cougars Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva, Ill. There, participants will enjoy a fun-filled day out at the ballgame with live entertainment by 5 Guys Named Moe, food and refreshments, a live auction with prizes for all ages and a raffle to win cash!

The Green Ribbon Rally was established in 2003 by the Walter Payton Center Guild and Steve Wendt, a Chicago-based retirement planning specialist and financial advisor and avid motorcyclist, who lost his son Stephen to liver cancer in 2002. A career U.S. Army officer who served in the Gulf War, Stephen was diagnosed with his illness in 1997 and received treatment, including a liver and kidney transplant, at the University of Illinois Medical Center. In gratitude for the life-prolonging care his son Stephen received and to advance the treatment of liver disease, Steve will continue to lead the Green Ribbon Rally in 2010.
